As a Mexican woman, I have come to embrace my need for beauty, emotional connection, and creative expression. As a mother, I have come to realize that caring for my daughter as well as caring for others — people, animals, plants, Mother Earth — is the most important work in the world. As a professional, I have come to accept that I cannot leave behind my feelings and values. So my work has become a more conscious and intentional quest for wholeness, for integrating my light and shadow, my gifts and my defects, and to learn to love myself fully if I wish to love the world.
